Getting Ready for Oracle OpenWorld
October 18, 2006
From all reports, it could
be like pre-bubble days at Oracle OpenWorld in San Francisco next week, with as many as
40,000 people in attendance. The IOUG will sponsor a wide range of events.
Sunday, IOUG president Ari Kaplan
told us, has been largely given over to the user groups. "Oracle is
working well with us," he said in a private interview. The hot topics were
Fusion and the preview of the next database release, Oracle 11g. With a
new release of the database platform of the horizon, the need for independent,
user-driven technical education will be greater than ever. In the October issue
of Database Trends and Application we interview Oracle vice president Rick
Schultz who explains more about Fusion. To subscribe, click here.
