ANTs Appoints Ari Kaplan to Board of Directors

Independent Oracle Users Group President Brings Executive Experience and Unique User Perspective

April 16, 2007 08:00 AM Eastern Daylight Time

BURLINGAME, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ANTs software inc. (OTCBB:ANTS), a leader in compatible, high-performance SQL database management systems, today announced the appointment of Ari Kaplan to the companys board of directors. Currently president of the Independent Oracle Users Group (IOUG), which represents more than 20,000 Oracle technology and database professionals worldwide, Mr. Kaplan is recognized as a leading authority in the IT industry with extensive executive experience and a unique perspective on the needs of the database user community.

I encounter organizations of all sizes that want to consolidate to fewer database vendors as one of their top priorities. They face extremely difficult challenges because of the laborious manual process that is currently required, said Ari Kaplan, president of the Independent Oracle Users Group. ANTs is addressing these challenges with the ANTs Data Server and other approaches they are developing based on their compatibility technologies. The high cost and complexity of database infrastructure due to organizations having multiple database vendors are significant problems. I believe there is a real opportunity for ANTs in this market.

Ari Kaplan is one of the worlds leading authorities in the technology and database fields. Before taking over as president of the largest independent users group for Oracle technology professionals, Mr. Kaplan gained broad recognition in the IT marketplace as CEO /CTO of Expand Beyond Corp., a leader in the database and server management market. Mr. Kaplan has authored five best-selling technology books on topics ranging from Oracle and Microsoft to baseball analytics, and has developed databases and decision-support systems for many major league baseball teams. He currently leads the database practice at Datalink, a leading storage architecture company.

Through his deep immersion in the user community, Ari Kaplan offers a rare inside look at how customers view our value proposition, and will provide useful insights into their requirements for database consolidation and high-performance databases, said Joe Kozak, president and CEO of ANTs Software. I welcome Ari to the board, and am confident his contributions and fresh perspective will help support and strengthen ANTs strategy for bringing innovation to database consolidation.
