In my documentation, the ORA-1041 is as follows:
01041: "internal error, hostdef extension doesn't exist"
* Cause: Pointer to hstdef extension in hstdef is null.
* Action: Report as a bug

If this is a bug, then Oracle Support should help you. Call them again
and insist that it is a bug.
